Director of the Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ASCAL), Dr. Xhiliola Bixheku, and the Head of the Department of Relations with the Accreditation and Internationalization Board, Mr. Erjon Xhako, participated in the workshop on the integration of European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) in the work of quality assurance agencies in higher education in the Balkans Western Conference, held in Zagreb, Croatia, on 06 and 07 July 2023. This seminar was organized by the Education Reform Initiative of South Eastern Europe (ERI SEE), in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia (MSE) and the Agency for Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Croatia (AZVO), as well as supported by the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC).
The main topics in focus of this seminar were:

• Providing a platform for sharing experiences between agencies about ESG implementation.
• Further planning of network activities.

During this workshop, the Agency for Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Croatia (AZVO), as a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), shared its experience on the alignment and implementation of ESGs.
