The Director of ASCAL, Dr. Xhiliola Bixheku, the Head of the Sector for Relations with the Accreditation Board and Internationalization, Mr. Erion Xhako, and the Head of the Sector for Statistics and Analysis, Ms. Ersi Dako, participated in the ENQA General Assembly of 2024, themed "Quality Assurance Beyond ESGs," which took place on October 24-25 in St. Julian’s, Malta.
On the first day of the meeting, general sessions were held, featuring case examples from representatives of ENQA members and associate countries regarding the quality assurance of scientific research, the connections between quality assurance and the social dimension of higher education, etc. Attendees were updated on the revision of the European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance (ESG), the steps taken, the timelines for their approval and implementation, and the Bologna process's work plan. Participants were also informed about policy developments following the EHEA Ministerial Conference held in Tirana and contributed to discussions on ENQA's upcoming strategic plan. In the second part of the day, votes were cast on various activities-related issues, such as the election of board members, the Vice President of ENQA, etc.
On the second day of the meeting, separate sessions presented data on the wide range of activities undertaken by quality assurance agencies, quality assurance in emergencies, and discussions on the rapid developments in artificial intelligence and its impact on higher education.
