June 16-17, 2016 Impala International Conference: “Assessing the Impact of Quality Control on Higher Education” was held in Barcelona, an event organized by ENQA and partners. The conference was an EU-funded activity under the Lifelong Learning Program, which aimed to broaden the knowledge of all interested parties about the outcomes, effects (medium and long term) and the impacts of quality assurance procedures.
The conference aimed to present and share further Impala project results (for example methodology and application for assessing the impact of external quality assurance on higher education institutions) to a wider interested audience. The Public Higher Education Accreditation Agency was represented in this activity by two evaluation specialists.
Presentations included case studies of the impact the assessment of quality assurance on HEIs had and current debates on the governance of HEIs and higher education policy. By getting acquainted with different models of external quality assurance of agencies from different European countries, PAAHE has taken and will consider the possibility of adapting methodological elements to further evaluation processes.
