On May 4-6, 2016 in Lisbon, the 8th Conference on "University Ranking and International Academic Relations" was organized by IREG (Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence), which was attended by two PAAHE specialists.

The conference, among other things, brought up discussions on the indicator of internationalization in the ranking of universities and their impact on other indicators such as research, teaching and innovation, etc. Indicators of international rankings were analyzed alongside national ones, and there were discussions on misunderstandings and problems of this process. New indicators of the independent model of internationalization of Anglo-Saxon universities were also discussed.

PAAHE continues to work for the realization of a new ranking process in our country through this annual event and in collaboration with the members of this consortium.
